What is Product Map AI?

Product Map is the AI copilot for product decisions. Connect Asana once so agents work from the tasks and projects your team already runs: discovery work, delivery follow-ups, and the board you are planning against, instead of asking you to paste tickets into chat.

After you connect, you can search tasks, list projects, pull a project's task list, open a task from a link, create a task from a spec, and save a description back to an existing task. Agents read and write only as the connected Asana user, and they write only when you ask.

• Fetch a task, including description and comments, from a link or ID

Product Map uses Asana content only to answer your requests and improve product work in your workspace. It does not use your Asana content to train foundation models. Review any task that gets created or updated before you treat it as final.

How to connect Product Map AI + Asana?

Product Map is an AI copilot for product managers. The Asana connection lets Product Map agents read tasks and projects you authorize, so your work in Asana works as context in chat. Agents can also create or update a task when you ask.

1. Open a project: Log in at https://productmap.io and open any project. Connections and chats are scoped to a project.
2. Connect Asana: Go to Connections inside the project. Click the Asana card, then Connect. Approve access on Asana's OAuth screen. You'll return to Product Map and see an "Asana connected" confirmation.
3. Start a chat: Open the project's agent chat. Asana tools turn on automatically after connecting. You can check them in the tools dropdown in the chat input.
4. Drop an Asana link: Copy a link to any task or project your account can access. Paste it into the chat with a prompt, for example: "Here's our board: [Asana link]. Summarize the open tasks and draft acceptance criteria for the top items." The agent fetches the linked task or project through the connection and answers using the real Asana content.
5. Create or update a task: Ask the agent to create a task from a spec, or to save a description back to an existing task. The change appears in Asana as you.

How it works

Product Map uses Asana OAuth with a token scoped to your account. When you paste a link or ask to search, the agent reads tasks and projects through the Asana REST API and passes them to the AI as context. When you ask to create or update a task, the agent writes back as you. Access stays scoped to your Product Map project. Asana content answers your requests only. It's never used to train foundation models.

This app does not install widgets, rules, or a project panel inside Asana. Connection starts in Product Map.

Disconnecting

Open the Asana card in Connections and click Disconnect. The token is revoked and Asana tools disappear from chat.
