What is Media List?

Media List is a media contact database featuring more than 1,400,000 journalists, editors, producers, podcast hosts and creators. Media List for Asana sends any saved contact list into Asana in one click. Each list becomes an Asana project and each contact becomes an Asana task containing their name, title, outlet, location and email address (once unlocked in Media List). Sending the same list again adds newly discovered contacts to the existing project while skipping duplicates, allowing your team to assign pitches, set follow-up dates and track outreach in Asana. A paid Media List plan is required (plans start at $99 per month, with a 3-day free trial), and you can disconnect Asana at any time.

How to connect Media List + Asana?

Prerequisite: a Media List account on a paid plan.

Follow these steps:
  1. Sign in at https://medialist.com and save a list of contacts.

  2. Go to https://medialist.com/asana and click Connect Asana, then click Allow on the Asana consent screen.

  3. Return to https://medialist.com/asana, select a saved list and an Asana workspace (and a team, if using an organization workspace), then click Send to Asana.

  4. Within about a minute the page shows the result with an Open in Asana link. The list will now appear as an Asana project named "Media List", with one task per contact (including name, title, outlet, location, and email if unlocked in Media List).

  5. If you send the same list again, new contacts are added to the same project and existing ones (including completed tasks) are skipped.

Click Disconnect on https://medialist.com/asana to revoke the Asana grant and delete the stored tokens.
